B.C. Chinese Orchestra
The B.C. Chinese Orchestra (BCCO) was formed in 1995 by enthusiastic music lovers dedicated to promote Chinese music within our multicultural community. The inauguration concert was held in 1997 with 30 members. We wish to promote music appreciation and cross-cultural activities in the community with public performances of major concerts.
Currently, the BC Chinese Orchestra (BCCO) is lead by resident conductor Peggy Hua and has performed regularly in various cultural, festive, and charitable events for the community.
The B.C. Chinese Orchestra invites professional musicians to perform different instruments with high levels of standard. Additionally, famous composers are also invited for performances of their pieces.
The association has organized lectures, master classes, instrument exhibitions, and seasonal and fundraiser concerts. We also coordinated with Vancouver Kiwanis Music Festival for the Chinese Ethnic Instruments Class competition. BCCMA is a designated charitable organization and not-for-profit music society concentrating on the promotion of Chinese music culture related activities. Your participation and support are most welcome.
If you are experienced in playing musical instruments, and would like to participate in an orchestra, feel free to contact us at 604-327-8807 or mail@bccma.net. You are welcome to come visit us at our regular rehearsal every Friday at 8-10pm 303-8495 Ontario Street, Vancouver, BC, Canada.
